End of the year

Well the last show of the year was the Winner shows in Helsinki. Nothing big this year for us, well Nessi did start her veteran career by winning Helsinki Veteran Winner -14 title. Go Nessi!

As the year is ending it is time to look back on this year and what a year has it been....

Thank you dear friends, judges and all who have celebrated our success with us. You are all a vital part of this all and this year would not have been what it was without you!

The year started with some puppy shows with our Chiqi & Joe babies. And they did us proud!

Alex, Exclamation Before The Dawn went 3 x BIG-2 and sister Mila, Exclamation Dusk Till Dawn won many times BOS to his brother and also 1 x BIG-3. We showed also our breeding class with them to BIS-3.

Alex

Mila
Our fauve boy Basil, Exclamation Le Chiffre also debuted in the puppy rings with super results. Shown 5 times: 5 x BOB with 2 x BIG-4, 1 x BIG-2, and also reserve Best In Show at Basset Main Speciality! So proud of this youngster.

Basil
During the year we had several unforgettable moments. Here's a bit of summing up.....

In March our golden boy Miro, Exclamation Miracle On Ice rocked at Lithuanian Winner show weekend by winning not only 2 x CACIB & CAC but also Lt W-14 title.

April was one of those months I'll remember forever. Not only did two of my second generation breeding finish their Champion titles on their first try but how.....
Armas, Exclamation Beyond The Horizon finished in Loviisa under Viveca Lahokoski. He did not stop there though. First winning the Group under Tuula Savolainen and then winning BEST IN SHOW under Tanya Ahlman-Stockmari. What a THRILL!!

precious Armas

Later in April Miro did finish his Finnish & Lithuanian Champion titles by winning Best male 2nd under specialist Terry Stacy, USA. So proud!

In May we took a crazy trip to Lithuania to Baltic Winner. 3 days of showing. I can tell you we were tired on the way back home but oh SO HAPPY!
We had 4 dogs with us and got absolutely amazing results!
Tara, Aika Von Der Engelburg won BOB all 3 days with CACIB's & CAC's and gained Baltic W-14 title and also became Lt Ch & C.I.E!!!!
Alex, E. Before The Dawn won 2 x jun-CAC making him Lt JCh and he also won 2 x BOB junior and added Baltic JW-14 title to his credit and was shortlisted on Saturday to TOP 6 from 100+ juniors. This young lad also won BOB on Sunday! At the age of only 9 months!!!! SUPER!!
His sister Mila, E. Dusk Till Dawn won 3 x jun-CAC making her Lt JCh and also Baltic JW-14!!
Armas, E. Beyond The Horizon shined throughout the weekend by winning 3 x CAC, 2 x CACIB, BOB,  BM 2nd to Alex and added Lt Ch and Baltic W-14!!! What a weekend!!!

Mila
We also had our Finnish Bassetclub's Main Speciality in May where Nessi, Easeful Cafe Espresso won BEST OF BREED and also went BEST IN SHOW 4th and Basil BOB puppy with BIS-2 ending. Super happy!!

Nessi
May gave Armas, E. Beyond The Horizon his second BEST IN SHOW for the year when he won BOB & CAC & BEST IN GROUP in Vyborg, Russia under Per Iversen and under Marja Talvitie won it all - Best In Show. Proud. That is the only word for it!

Armas with all his trophies
His brother Cosmo, E. New Horizon debuted in the show rings the next day with BM 3rd & CAC under breeder-judge Vibeke Paulsen.

Cosmo
In June it was time for Alex, E. Before The Dawn to enter as an adult in Finland in Lohja. He went BOB & CAC under Tanya Ahlman-Stockmari and BIG-4 under Monica Cyperling. Such a super boy!"

Alex
His sister Mila, E.Dusk Till Dawn continued great success in Norway by winning BOS & CAC  at Tromssa International!!

Mila
In July we travelled to Latvia as this was the first try for Armas to get his International Champion title. What a weekend it was, again!!!
Basil, E. Le Chiffre won 3 x BOB, 3 x BOB junior & 3 x Jun-CAC making him Lv JCh!!
Alex, E. Before The Dawn won jun-CAC with BM 2nd and gained Lv JCh title.
His sister Mila, E. Dusk Till Dawn dominated the bitches with 2 x BOS & jun-CAC making her Lv & Baltic JCh!! And the star again.... Armas, E. Beyond The Horizon won 2 x BOB & CACIB & CAC. Wow! On Saturday he gained his C.I.B title with Lv Ch title in addition. This was his first try to finish C.I.B in 1 year and 5 days!!! He did not stop there though.... later he went reserve Best In Group too!!! On Sunday after winning the breed he also won the Group and later on the day..... his THIRD BEST IN SHOW for the year!!! Speechless!!!

Armas, super boy

Armas & Mila, BOB/BOS both days

August was a busy one too. Mila, E. Dusk Till Dawn continued her success with BOB & CAC in Finland. Alex, E. Before The Dawn won another BOB and few CAC's, including BOB junior in Kuopio where he was also shortlisted to top 15 by Harri Lehkonen from a huge amount of juniors! Basil, E. Le Chiffre won also CAC with BOS in Kuopio. Nessi, Easeful Cafe Espresso won BOB and later BEST IN GROUP 4th under Harri Lehkonen in Kuopio too!!

Nessi
World Winner show came to Finland and of course we had to be there too! Nothing big, Nessi won res-CACIB, so close but so far :D But our Tara, Aika Von Der Engelburg was shown under FCI Judge committee president mr Horst Kliebenstein from Germany, the breed origin country. So I think this was the few times when a judge had seen other pudelpointers live and I was anxious to hear what he'd say. Well, he loved her!! Tara was awarded BEST OF BREED & CAC & CACIB making her Fi Ch and World Winner 2014!!!!

Tara
And we travelled to Tallinn to try and finish Miro's International Champion title too. His first try with 1 year and 5 days ( how bizarre, exactly the same as Armas.... ). Basil, E. Le Chiffre won 2 x BOB, 2 x BOB-junior & 2 x jun-CAC making him Ee JCh too! Alex, E. Before The Dawn won 2 x BM 2nd, 2 x BOB junior & jun-CAC making him Ee & Baltic JCh!!! Miro, Exclamation Miracle On Ice did it! He was BOB on Saturday and BOS on Sunday, gaining 2 x CACIB, CAC making him Ee Ch and brand new C.I.B !!! And as he did not want to be any worse than Armas he also finish his C.I.B title with reserve Best In Group!!!

Alex

Mila, E. Dusk Till Dawn won BLACK VARIETY BITCHES and went BEST IN SHOW 5th while his half-brother Raipe, Little Life Really Royal Dynasty won BLACK MALES and went BIS 3rd. Both are sired by our lovely C.I.B Afterglow Tokyo Joe!

Time To Remember, who returned from maternity leave to win bitches and also BEST IN SHOW CUT-DOWN!!! Super proud!!

Club Show 12.10.2014

Again the event of the year was upon us. The annual Club Show. Every year we gather with friends and show our dogs under breed specialists from the States.

Thank you so much dear friends for a SUPERB day! And my warmest congratulations to all the winners! BIG one for Maarit and Pekka for Raipe's super day!

Enjoy!

12.10.2014 Lahti, Finnish ACC Club Show

judge: Rita Crowe, kennel Fanny-Hill's, USA

The day started with ASCOBS where Miro - C.I.B Exclamation Miracle On Ice was second in Champion class.

Then we moved on to blacks where in males Balt JCh Exclamation Before The Dawn was 3rd in juniors. Joe son Raipe, Little Life Really Royal Dynasty WON THE VARIETY! Yes, very proud! Huge congrats Outi, Maarit and Pekka!!

In females little girl Mila, Balt Jch Exclamation Dusk Till Dawn also WON THE VARIETY from junior class over champions! SO PROUD!

As we didn't have any partis this year with coat we relaxed a while and moved then onto the cut-down class. First it was males where I had Miro's multitalented brother, the agility and obedience boy Mike, Exclamation Miracle Hunter. Mike gave us a big surprise by WINNING the males over International Champions. Congrats Viivi and Teea!!!!

Mike in males
Then we moved onto females, where our Sisi, Ch Exclamation Time To Remember made her comeback to the rings after her maternity leave. Her puppies were only 3 months old and what did mommy do....... WON the females...... and was BEST IN SHOW CUT DOWN!!!!! So happy and proud. Her joy of showing could be seen for miles, and that is the what the judge said : She just can't get enough.... And it shows. To top the females, our very own Fiona, Exclamation Dare To Dream was second to Sisi. Way to go Fiona and Greta!

The whole female cut down line-up

Fiona & Sisi

BIS cut down with Mike and Sisi

Then it was time to cheer for the Best In Show line up. I must say I felt particularly proud as the blacks where both from our Joe, C.I.B Afterglow Tokyo Joe. I know it's kind of a cliche but oh so true.... Have to quote Pat Craig Trotter:
When you look at a dog's pedigree, it tells you what he OUGHT to be....
When you look at a dog in the ring, it tells you what he SEEMS to be....
When you look at a dog's progeny, it tells you what he IS.

BIS line-up

BOV BLACKS Raipe & Mila
The day ended with Raipe being BEST IN SHOW 3rd and Mila BEST IN SHOW 5th!!! What a great success as Raipe is still under two years and Mila only a year!!!

Hunting tracking

Well, I have always said that when the dog has got it, he/she doesn't have to work for it, it comes naturally. And I must say I feel particularly proud about this result as this boy was in full coat less than a month ago. He has gained an impressive Champion title listing since he turned two in February this year including International Champion title. He has also won multiple times the Group and BEST IN SHOW! All this with VERY limited showing! And he is only 2,5 years old!
What more can you ask from one dog? Well, I guess the answer would be something like: not only beauty but brains too.
This special boy has proven once again that an american cockerspaniel is not only a pretty showdog but can function also in the field too, if given the opportunity.
As because of his showcareer, he has not had really any training.... Only a babytrack at 10 weeks, a 150m track when he was 6 months and a 240m track last week. So I would say it is proven he has got some talent!
I feel so blessed to have my fingers in this dog. He is truly something else.
HUGE congratulations and THANK YOU to his co-owners Maarit and Tuukka for believing in him and giving him the opportunity to prove himself in the field in addition to his spectacular showcareer!

Ok, been too lazy again but this time a really good excuse! Been extremely busy!!! :)

But let's catch up, there a lot of updates to be listed! I think i'll list the happenings from the latest onward. Hope I don't miss anything! This is what you get when you don't do the chores.... LOL.

The highlight of the year, no doubt about that. It was especially nice to meet up with many friends from around the world. I want to thank each and every one for a memorable three days! Hope to see you all soon. xx

Well, we did have dogs entered there too. On Friday americans were judged by John Reeve-Newson from Canada. Alex (E. Before The Dawn) got EXC in a very though competition and we are so happy about the little boy! Nothing much else to report. LOL.
On Saturday fauves were judged by Bo Skalin from Sweden. It was so great to meet up with Elisabeth and see Uno again. Still my no 1 boy. Basil (E. Le Chiffre) got a great critique and won his class with superb comments from the judge but due to his age and vanishing hair he got VG. Happy about him, nevertheless. Nessi (C.I.B Easeful Cafe Espresso) won champion class and got res.CACIB.
On Sunday I was actually really, really nervous.... Tara out pudelpointer (Ch & Multi W Aika Von Der Engelburg) was judged by a german judge, a person who knew the breed, mr Horst Kilebestein, the president of FCI judges committee. Tara showed as usual, her happy beautiful self and the judge loved her. So now we can add FINNISH CHAMPION & WORLD WINNER-14 titles on her! Yej!!!!

I want to also congratulate a super talented young handler Dominyka Kolesova from Lithuania, who competed with our Armas, C.I.B Exclamation Beyond The Horizon in the Junior handling competition and was placed among TOP 3 (out of 110) on Sunday under Juha Palosaari and qualified to the Finals!
